Professor Marion Festing was a keynote speaker at the IHRM Webinar 2020. She was interviewed by Professor Maral Muratbekova-Touron, chair of IHRM Conference 2020. In the interview, she shared stories of the birth of the intercultural serious game, Moving Tomorrow – An Intercultural Journey, from inspiration, conceptualization, development, and finally to induction. She also talked about the implications of digital teaching innovations in future human resource teaching.
Culture serious games, like Moving Tomorrow, help us map out intercultural management and intercultural issues in international human resource management. Moreover, they offer opportunities to incorporate real life experience in teaching. Serious games also offer the possibility for students or trainees to learn at their own pace, which is a solution to the trend of individualized teaching and learning.
The serious game has proven to be a great success among students and professors at ESCP and could become an important supplement to other teaching materials in future HRM teaching.
The conference was supposed to take place in June 2020 in Paris, but was replaced by the webinar due to current circumstances.
